info
Michaela finished a BSc (Physio) at the University of the Witwatersrand in 2001 and worked at Milpark Hospital for three years. She moved to London and worked in a busy BUPA hospital for a year where she completed her first continence / Women's Health weekend course and decided that this was where her special interest lay.

She moved to the dedicated maternity and gynae Queen Charlotte's and Chelsea Hospital in London where she had six years of experience in assessing and treating women with pelvic floor disorders and pregnant women with pregnancy-related aches and pains. She worked as part of a busy team that included teaching junior physiotherapists and developing new services.
She enjoys helping pregnant women as many have been made to feel that their pregnancy is an 'illness' and aches and pains are something to suffer. Exercises and advice can make a difference in the day-to-day living and activites of a pregnant woman so that every day is no longer a struggle - like attending and antenatal exercise class (FitBump!)
She is especially passionate about making a difference in the life of someone who has a problem with her bladder or bowel - especially as these topics are often linked with feelings of isolation, embarrassment and depression. Confidentiality and sensitivity are foremost in any of her consultations and a thorough explanation is often the first step to improving a woman's quality of life.
